The library on Lopez Island is an excellent place to find information about the history of Lopez Island. Paul Allen, who bought a large part of Lopez Island, has provided money to the Lopez Island school to compile a history of the island. The history is supposed to be finished and available in the library in June 2011.
There is also a small museum that provides limited historical information.
